Description

Well-being has five building blocks, and each one can be developed.

This course explores the PERMA framework developed by positive psychologist Martin Seligman: Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment. You will learn how to use PERMA to assess client well-being, help clients create a personal PERMA JOY Plan, and apply the model in a real-world coaching scenario.

Why it matters: The PERMA-Profiler, a brief measure of the five PERMA elements, was tested across eight studies with 31,966 participants (Butler & Kern, 2016, International Journal of Wellbeing). PERMA gives coaches a research-informed way to discuss and track well-being.

You will leave with the PERMA Model tool, the My PERMA JOY Plan, a real-world coaching scenario, and knowledge-check quizzes.

Module 28 of the JOY Success Coaching Certificationâ„¢, Level 3: JOY Strategist Coach. Also available as a standalone course.
