About Course

Classroom behavior is often where new-to-the-U.S. teachers feel the culture gap first. This course gives you practical, research-informed behavior management strategies you can use from day one.

Teaching in the United States asks for more than strong instruction. U.S. schools expect teachers to prevent disruptions, respond to challenging behavior calmly and consistently, and protect learning time while building a safe, structured, student-centered classroom.

In this self-paced, 2-hour course (including workbook activities), you will learn the difference between proactive and reactive behavior management, how the U.S. three-tiered system of support (MTSS) applies to behavior, and how to use proximity, nonverbal cues, and behavior-specific praise to redirect students without stopping instruction. You will also practice a five-step conflict response framework so you can address student disagreements with calm, clarity, and confidence.
